Southern Maine FC is looking for experienced coaches who are believe in our philosophy and maintain the balance of a positive, challenging, engaging, and fun environment. We are not looking for "joystick coaches" who can over coach from the sidelines to get results. We are not developing direction followers, we are developing strong technical players whose tactical awareness allows them to excel on the pitch.
Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches: Looking for player-centered head coaches interested in working with specific age groups and genders. Experience coaching at club level, high school, or college preferred. E license or higher preferred. Willing to continue coaching education (training, licenses, etc.) through SMFC club level training, and National Training. Stipend/Hourly pay negotiated based on experience. SMFC will also provide you opportunities to generate your own programming and private sessions for additional personal revenue.
Community Outreach Director: We actively want to ensure that opportunities are communicated throughout Southern Maine to ALL families. We are looking for a multi-lingual candidate (preferably Arabic speaking) to help spread the word to our ELL families (via phone, translating media to Arabic, etc.) . The Community Outreach Director will also work to find scholarship opportunities to help ensure that any family in need of financial assistance is able to play.
- The main focus of SMFC coaches is to develop each individual player technically and tactically within the game. As coaches we need to ensure that we are consistently creating good habits in order for our players to succeed. Success will not be measured in the Win-Loss column but on the fact of did the players demonstrate what was learnt in training?
- Did the players show an understanding of what was asked of them tactically? Did the players match the work rate and intensity of their opponents? If they do these things then results will follow. It is extremely important that we NEVER sacrifice good habits for winning games. Results will come because of the good habits that have been created.
